The children have been busy mixing and stirring and chilling and dipping – making an assortment of mice (and shrews, apparently) to give as gifts. The chocolate truffle mice are from this rather fab recipe on Where Your Treasure Is. We used home-made chocolate biscuits rather than bought ones (avoiding those hydrogenated fats) and also dipped some in white chocolate (not pictured) and they really are rather tasty.
They’re both very proud of their results and have gone on to make some chocolate-dipped peppermint creams too. It’s been a busy time in the kitchen!
Have you got any favourite home-made sweet recipes? Any recommendations for further sweets the children can make themselves?
