An afternoon at Brodsworth Hall

Catching up on trips gone by this month.  We had a sunny day, so decided to hop in the car and visit Brodsworth Hall (only a few miles away).
Nin enjoys visiting with the stone dogs.
I’m getting steadily rounder.
There’s a little pet cemetery in the grounds – populated predominantly by dogs, but there’s also a bird in there (probably a parrot).  Various little purple flowers, strawberries and ivy grow in the shade.
Ted spent the day in his jedi robe (mostly).
Primroses are one of my favourite flowers and always make me smile!
The rose garden is looking very bare at this time of year – but give it a few months and it will be glorious!
Of course we had to stop off at the playground there.  It was rather busy though!
A few parts of the garden (and the main house) were shut off.  It appears the tree surgeons have been in and working on various trees (and these areas were cordoned off).  I guess they’re getting the main house ready for the main tourist season – although the servants quarters were open and we had a wander around the kitchens and various ancillary rooms (no photos allowed in the main house).  We’re very lucky to be able to live close to such lovely gardens to explore – we
will be going back soon to see the wonderful cherry blossom (when it blooms).

Lovely photographs – it looks like you had great weather for your day out!I don’t think I’ve ever come across a pet cemetary like that before.
